“Everything I’ve Learned Still Matters”: Ed’s Story

One of the quietest fears about retirement is the one nobody says out loud: does everything I built just… stop counting?

Ed Moore had a career’s worth of knowledge, skills, and hard-won experience. Then the career ended — and like so many, he wondered what all of it was for now.

The Ignite My Retirement seminar at Legacy Church in Atascadero, California gave him a different answer than the one he feared.

“It was so encouraging to learn that my career and the things I’ve learned in that — as well as the experiences I’ve had in life — will still be relevant as I move into retirement. That will be part of the purpose of my retirement.”

Nothing wasted. Nothing expired. The decades of work weren’t the destination; they were the preparation.
